COMMERCIAL JOINERY REPAIRS

Commercial joinery

Commercial joinery in respect to aluminium is made of heavier gauge aluminium with its extrusions being much larger in size than residential joinery which allows for larger and more robust opening systems to be used e.g. Pivot systems like the Transom closers and Floor Springs then there are the surface mount door closers aswellusually in 100mm or 75mm platform sizes. Timber options are also of heavier dimensions than their residential counter parts.
Commercial doors are often in double door setups and if in an exterior entrance one panel will be fixed by flush bolts and the other will lock into it via a deadbolt with seprate dee handles on both panels.

Standard Hinged Commercial Doors

Hydraulic door closers are in their basic form a rectangular shaped box that houses the hydraulic mechanism that has either a pivot elbow type arm bolted to it or a slide rail arm setup. This setup is attached in one format or another to the door to give the door panel a controlled closing and latching speed with some having a hold open option. They also come in different sizes depending on the size, weight, position and usage of the door.

Commercial Transom Closers

Commercial Transom closers are a hydraulic control set up hidden in the transom/header frame above the door in either 75mm or 100mm size the 75mm has been discontinued. This closer lets the door pivot both ways while causing it to return to the closed position after each usage in a controlled manner with latching speed and hold open or no hold open functions. They have a pivot hinge arrangement on the floor. Over time these systems can become a bit tired and their fixings can work loose so periodic maintenance is recommended to minimise major problems. We have access to most brands and parts

Commercial Floor Springs

Commercial Floor Springs are a spring and hydraulic system or just hydraulic system that fits into a metal box that sits in a rebate in the floor under the door with the door sitting on the drive shaft that sticks up out of the system. The top of the door swings on a pivot hinge attached to the header/transom frame above the door. There are a number of different versions older ones have the ability of more adjustment but require periodic upkeep like topping up the hydraulic oil and when required they can be reconditioned newer versions are sealed units with some adjustments but once they no longer work its time for a replacement. We can carry out both maintenance and replacement options as required.

Commercial Flush Bolts

Commercial flush bolts are recessed into either the timber or aluminium panel they are on, the timber ones being different than the ones used for aluminium doors. They are also different than the ones used for residential joinery. The bottom flush bolt often goes into a dust socket this is a speicial fitting that fits into the concrete floor with a srping loaded centre. We have access to all types of flush bolts and carry some in stock.
